I'd also say the mk4 weight is a bit off too, my car weighs 1446kg
Some of the weights you find are totally dry as in they are with empty fuel tanks, base spec and no driver, I think more modern requirements for kerb weights include something like 1/2 a tank of fuel ect..
QUOTE (KevC @ Jun 17 2010, 10:20 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Jes the Mk 6 Golf R is a heavy bastard, alot of the extra power seems to be eaten up by the weight of the 4motion!!
Yeah I was suprised also that it is so much more than the GTI but they are the figures in the UK brochure. I did find it stated at 1450kg from another source though.
are they dry weights or laden weights? Th mk2 is defo under a tonne, look at your nct report, my car was weighed in this time at 967kg with a quater tank of fuel. not sure if my tubby tester was in it or not tho
AFAIK the weight is on the DOE to confirm the classification of it as a Light goods vehicle at less than 2.5 ton... (LGV)
above that any vehicle is a HGV again, to the best of my knowledge and understanding...
i have an nct report for a 1.3 4 speed mk2 cl, i can remember getting it ready for test, i left nothing in it but the basic stuff, i remember it was low ish on juice, 890kg's not bad.

Thats weird..
My old A3 1.8T was just over 1200kg and the S3 is 1465kg. What did SEAT hide in your car?
I would have imagined that the Leon would have been around the same weight as the A3.
QUOTE (Shane @ Jun 17 2010, 11:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Where are people getting weights of their cars from? there is no weight on my NCT report, where on the report is it ?
on the report on the top left i think. its used to assess the breaking effort required for the weight of the car as far as i know.
