As title says, just wondered as I noticed this a lot especially on old shape Astras. The body is completely faded but the plastic bumpers etc are in a lot better condition.
Whats the reason?
Why Does Paint On Metal Fade But The Plastic Bumpers Are Okay?
As title says, just wondered as I noticed this a lot especially on old shape Astras. The body is completely faded but the plastic bumpers etc are in a lot better condition.
Whats the reason?
Would it not be down to the heat a metal body would reach as opposed to the plastic front bumper, making the body burn through the paint quicker?? Only a guess

I've seen that with Audi's around the place too, especially A6's which is quite shocking considering what they cost!
its impossible to match colours on bumpers and wing as its metal versus plastic. some coulours do match well though. as for paint fade. its the quality of paint and depth of primer and paint
Its to do wit the quality of the lacquer guys and also temperature metal roofs and bonnets gwt up to..
