Lost Log Book

Well lads,

Bought the passat a few ,months ago. The guy i got it off cant find the log book, so im applying a new one. I have the RF134 form, but the book is not in his name. Its in the previous owners name before that. I have his name and address, but whos name do I put on the form?

Do I put my own and explain what has happened and state his name and address and say he was the previous owner??

Silly question but how do you know the guy you bought the car from owned it? No log book. Not the registered owner. Hmmmm

hey i got a wee golf there at the house, the previous owner is dead, whats the story with getting a logbook for that!

You need to sign a Statutory Declaration and have it stamped by a main garage and a Keeper of the Peace/Peace Commissioner or a Solicitor and send it off to Shannon. You can ask for the form in the tax office. For a fact they will not accepted the RF134 form if you are not the registered owner.
