and i spotted a nice 2002 volkswagon bora 1.9 tdi 150 bhp highline
Image
it has 150,000 miles 30,000 left in the timing belt full main dealer service history and is a uk car 2 years nct and no tax
Image
im just wondering how much are they making CASH???? because i think this one is cheap? im also wondering what extra's do they have ?? and are they worth the extra money to the normal tdi ? and are they more economical to the normal 130bhp bora for having the 6 speed box ??

thanks

Uk car with nct? Do you mean mot? When you go to pay vrt there gonna ride you with the highline xtras. Same economy as the 130. Not much between the two. The 150 is more powerful obviously but the 130 spools up quicker. Im guessing there making 4,500-6,000.

The PD130 and PD150 are practically the same engine, the 150 has a front mount intercooler and a different turbo, they both use the same 6 speed gear box. The pd150 does tend to suffer from camshaft wear more than the pd130. Both engines must be run on vw 505.01 or above approved oil. The pd130 and pd150 come with a highline interior, some will have leather heated seats some won't, some will have climate control and some will just have aircon etc. It all depends how they were speced from day one really. I'd imagine you should pick up a Bora with that kind of milage for handy enough money these days as they never commanded as much as a Golf would. What sort of money are they asking?

QUOTE (sean w @ Sep 11 2010, 05:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>my 130 pd was a comfort line. no alloys as standard. mine was an irish car do!! look at the data sticker in the boot. there will be a 3 digit engine code. ARL is the 150bhp code ans ASZ is the 130bhp code

im guessing the one you are looking at is not a factory 150 but chipped or mapped to 150... engine code is the only way to know for sure
Yes it should have a 110kw data sticker if its a pd150, badges don't mean anything as the are often changed!

i have a pd150 and had it remapped. great drive considering the economy, dont know what else i could use for a daily.

however it did chew the cam shaft
destroyed the 6 speed box
pulled the fly wheel apart
and loves tyres and bushings if it got them.

costly stuff if you cant keep it on the road yourself! love it though

I just bought a 130bhp sport, 68k on the clock, full vw service history. Very impressed by this car, I get 650 miles to a tank (i do 100 miles straight line driving every day. It is really a smashing little car, doesn't feel as sloppy as the golf and the 6th gear is very impressive, 1700 rpm = 60mph. I paid ÂŁ3550 for my car, 738 euro vrt. I was and am very happy with it.
