From Onkle
All well and good, but leave the moderating to the moderators."

Thats fair enough, just wish they would sort out the asspoles on it, the guys answering my thread were trolling trying to cause trouble which im sure is against boards t and cs

In relation to the log book, I would not worry too much about it, get a "Birth Cert" from the VW museum for your Anniversary, the details on it prove a lot more than what is down on the log book
Image

See this is why I love this forum, honest answers and no bull all the time
Image
How do I get that?

Haha thanks, I will have to blow the dust off my German dictionary

Will do that when I get a bit of money again thanks.

My logbook only says golf on it too, meant to do something about it but never got around to it because weirdly a cartell or mywheels check comes up with all the right details
Image

One of the other anni owners had the same problem too, Jkay I think, but got it sorted by contacting the VRO head office.

Cool thanks I will get on to them about it, ya when I done the reg checks before buying all the right details came up, and when I insured it when I gave the reg it came up as 25th Anniversary Gti, why the logbook changed details I do not know.

i haven't been on there in a long time.
it's full of childish idiots.

and most of the "mods" i'd put money on being very young people and feel the need to moderate and comment on things that they know little about to justify their moderator status.

like the comment he said to you,
if he felt your response wasnt good, why not delete it along with the post you where replying to?

it's the same accross boards.
something gets locked because too many people disagree long before any sign of an argument shows up, yet they claim to be a discussion forum.
or comments are made and rather then deleting them, they lock the thread so nobody can continue the disscussion rather then deleting said comments.

i'm sure they are not all bad, but i have expierenced enough of it on the sporting side of the forum that i have little interest in going back.

their for sale policies are another fuck up.
but thats another rant altogether.

I'm not surprised the VRO got it wrong in the 1st place. I VRT'd my mk2 as an 8v
Image
and paid the 850 I think it was at the time and when I received the log book the car was down as a Golf GTI 16v
Image
VRT on a 16v at the time was 1020 I think. It makes no sense at all as to how they got it wrong. Personally it doesn't bother me as the car has neither of the two engines fitted
Image

For your own car I think a Birth Cert from the VW museum is the way to go + anybody you sell it to down the line will probably be on this forum and know the car.
