GAZ in the UK can take your struts and turn them into coilovers for you or you can get a bit DIY and do this:

I did something similar to the front struts in my B1 80 but I recycled the threaded section from some ordinary mk2 golf coilovers

I don't think you will get a set of anything at all.

The mk1-2-3 Polos have similar style struts and you can buy coilover versions of those off the shelf but I have no idea how suitable they would be for the B3.

Is it the B2 Passat (82-88) or the B3 (88-93) passat you are referring to/need info on?
The B2 has the steering 'arm' attached to the strut/below the spring cup; B3 has the conventional; steering arm off the upright' arrangement...

Mk3 Golf struts will fit straight into a B3 passat.

As for B2; AFAIK some audi 80 (mid eightes) coilovers n lowering springs will fit (from memory of when i briefly had a B2) -there lots of info on the B2 era Passat on 'ukpassats' forum...
