current mileage is 126,100 miles; Timing belt had been done not long before my brother bought it in UK; I'll look at the s/h book;

My brother, when he had it serviced it every 3k tho miles; I have serviced it since my mother has had it again every 3k miles; fully service with all filters.

Noticed this was losing coolant very gradually n slowly from the expansion tank over time, n presumed 'natural wastage' as per internet wisdom

but traced it today to a weeping rad - plastic header tank to core join weeping - will be fitting a brand new rad from vw this coming week, when they have it in ....

 

BUMP; ended up fittin a new rad twice to this, since my last post, since the first one supplied leaked worse than the original one -straight out of the box; ...it was returned n I fitted the second new one a week or so ago, n its running well again with no issues since....
