In fairness Dave kirko is a major trek from most places in the south especially on a week day.

Maybe so, but we're talking 3 days/year....people travel to Cork/Limierick to static shows to park up and polish their exhaust pipes FFS
As well as that, there was an attempty made here some time back to run a VW day in Mondello....and as predicted, we had a full house on paper when the thread was 2 hrs old....then when it came time to pay up, no one could make it....track day cancelled!!

i know, but that is the same with nearly everything organised here be it rolling roads,or shows everyone says they will go but they never do.

VAGdrivers might not give a shit?

This was never a track day orientated sight there are 2 track day orientated sites in the country that i know of (octane and DTD) there are lots of members on here that do track days with both of those sites, its not like members on here don't have an outlet and are relying solely on a VAGdrivers member to organise one.

Besides if there was a VAg only track day it would be full of GT TDIs and the like and that wouldn't be cool would it?

its the same old story with vagdrivers trackday/rollin road day
like dave said everyone signs up but when it comes to pay everyone folds
me thinks people might be afraid of a big bad track day in case they might wear tyres or the polish might fall off.only reason i can think of
anyone?

I'd love to track day my mk2. Any previous track-days i seen run have either been very expensive, too far away or clashed with work etc.
As i said above, i'd be afraid that through no fault of my own, someone else would make shite of my car. I'm not exactly minted, and dont exactly have a fist of cash to throw away. I've heard some horror stories from track days where lads didn't give a fuck and drove as such.

Id be up for one in the new year for def, oh and Ill leave the diesel at home and bring the mk2! In fairness Mick Ive neer seen a mondello track day turn into that kind of thing, Usually the slower lads just move over, although I havent gotten the mk2 on the track yet so Im just saying that from what Ive seen and passenger laps etc.

I think it would be a bit of craic! Mondello would be the spot to do it though, Ive never been to kirko but Ive been told its more a power circuit, whereas mondello is a technical circuit. . .

fair point but i dont think you would have anything to worry about at a vag track day as the pace would be slow.thats why a vagdrivers trackday would be perfect as im sure others would have same concern

I think that is a bit of an arrogant attitude to be honest, not everyone here has 2 cars a lot of people here would be tracking their daily driver and would be justifiably worried about A.doing some damage from pushing it on. B. Crashing or C having some flute crash into them - not everyone on here would be able to garage their car in their own shed and work on it themselves in their free time, damage to the car would mean expensive repair bills and no car to drive.Jobs/money are tight enough without going out of your way to cause yourself hardship!

Mick I know mondellos track days are 250 for the full day iirc or 200 for a half day, club days are usually less and plus you dont have knobs in civics, bank holidays are usually filled already with mondellos own track days, as is the weekends, I would hazard a guess that week days would be cheaper, you will need a helmet and a licence and away ya go! need to get my hands on a helmet some are shocking expensive, but well worth it.
