heard the add on the radio for the new passat with the twin charge tsi engine and sayind that its the first engine to use this technology. what about this little car?? http://www.xs4all.nl/~mjs/March.html

" The first Nissan March was introduced in October, 1982 as a 3-door sedan. It was allegedly designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. It rode on a wheelbase of 230 cm and had a length of 364.5 cm. Engine was a 4-cylinder 987 cc. In September, 1983 a 5-door sedan was added. In February, 1985 a turbo was introduced. By January, 1989 the March Super Turbo was added with a 930 cc 110 PS engine with both a supercharger AND a turbo (this engine was already introduced in the March R by Autech in August, 1988). In Europe the car was called Nissan Micra, a 1235 cc engine joined the 987 cc engine in early 1989 and replaced it later. "

Am I right in thinking that the 1.4 Passat TSi is not Twincharger at all? as far as I can figure it just has a single turbo?

they said on the radio that it uses twincharge technology.

I think the engine in the 1.4 Passat is this...

TSI technology - performance,
economy and kinder to the environment.

Introducing the new 1.4 TSI engine
Less fuel consumption, lower emissions and smaller engine size, combined with more power, more torque and loads more
driving fun - that's what you can expect from the new 1.4 litre TSI engine.
Based on the original 1.4 TSI engine, which combined a supercharger and turbocharger, the new TSI engine utilises only
a sophisticated turbocharger. The result is an exceptional engine offering an impressive output of 122 bhp, linked to a choice
of either a six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
Adding power and punch to the Volkswagen range
The new 1.4 litre engine is the third TSI variant to be introduced since its launch in 2006, each one offering progressively
improved performance and greater fuel economy. As you would expect, the latest in the TSI line-up offers even greater benefits
than its predecessors. So impressive is its torque, power, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, the new 1.4 litre TSI engine
will now be offered throughout the Golf, Golf Plus, Jetta and Passat ranges as a replacement to the popular 1.6 FSI engine.
Maximum power, minimum consumption
The new 1.4 TSI offers significant benefits when compared to the existing 1.6 FSI engine, which it now replaces. For a start
it delivers an increased maximum output of 122 bhp, (compared to 115 bhp with the 1.6 FSI), yet is much more economical,
using a substantial six percent less fuel. For example, fuel consumption on the Golf hatch increases to a very impressive
44.8 mpg, compared to the 42.2 mpg previously offered by the 1.6 litre FSI.
This exceptional fuel economy is the result of the 1.4 TSI's increased torque, which rises by nearly 30 per cent. (To get
technical, the new 1.4 TSI delivers an exceptional 200 Nm at 1,500 - 3,500 rpm, compared to the existing 1.6 FSI, which delivers
155 Nm at 4,000 rpm.) In other words, the new 1.4 TSI engine offers improved torque at lower engine revs, enabling you to enjoy
a similar performance to the 1.6 FSI but with considerably lower fuel consumption and less engine noise. (In fact, the new 1.4 TSI
enables you to enjoy 80 per cent of the maximum torque at speeds as low as 1,250 rpm - that's a gain of 66 per cent compared
to the 1.6 FSI.)
