While on a spin up north today with gavc1988 we decided to call into traynors for a look-
Never realised what an operation they had going on up there

Some serious cars been broken up that direction- loads of lotus/ferraris/corvettes/ etc

They had a Noble being broken with some serious breaks on it!
Both front and back disks are HUGE with massive callipers on them too...
They wanted ÂŁ400 for the front set no idea what stud/fitiment they are as they were on the 3rd rack up.
Serious modification(if even possible) for somebody there!

In the parking lot were 2 damaged repairables black Mkiv Golf GTIs and a leon Cupra (asking ÂŁ2700 with "water damage but it runs fine"

I'd have loved to stay there for a bit longer and have a proper route around- i'd say you'd find a few gems in there

Its just a huge scrap yard that happens to have a serious amount of some very serious cars-
I found myself looking at some cars and wondering exactly how it had come to be written off-
I'd say those cars could tell some pretty good stories- i'd especially like to know who wrote off that noble... (it wasn't even in that bad condition)

Depends on who you deal with. Dermot is a know it all, who knows the value of everything and the price of nothing. He is on a share of the profits, so the more he charges you, the more he makes. He drives the DB9. He is hard to deal with. Phillip, who actually owns the place is dead on and can be talked to on prices. Some of the lads at the counter and in the yard have an attitude problem. If you ever need a part ask for Lawrence, he runs the yard. Fergal deals with wheels and tyres and has a bag of king edwards on his shoulder.
You can probably pick the same parts up in the Uk cheaper, but if you need stuff in a hurry Traynors is the place to go.

One of their delivery stops is The Green Isle at about 12 - 1 on Tuesdays IIRC I dont know if there is any more in Dublin.

and the 'Coachmans Inn' near the airport, prices may be a little more, but its next day and cash on delivery, if your not happy with the part, dont pay... havent found them too bad... and yes its always worth a stop when going by to check out the racks (of cars ya pervs!

Dermot is some lad alright - I met them to pick up a Sierra diff, and the damn thing was seized solid, but all I wanted was the cwp, so offered him 50quid and was told he "prefer to chuck it in the bin than take 50quid for it" .... cheers!
