Towing With Tiptronic ?

Folks,
Is there any major problems with towing on a car with a Tiptronic box ? Always understood towing with autoboxes to be a bad idea, is the Tiptronic any different ? Car is an A3 Sportback 2.0 TDI.

towing with auto's has never been a bad idea to me, our jeep is auto and the old volvo we had before was auto too and both tow fine.
as for the tiptronic, does it have a "drive" position or is it just up and down?
if it has a drive then tahts the one to go for
I know of a man that went through a few of manual boxes in a couple of Landcruisers that he had.
He did alot of heavy towing & recently he's been going for ones with Auto boxes & he says that it's
far better, the Auto box is way more capable of dealing with the heavy loads
the auto box will alter the ratios for more suitable power i think
plus the left leg gets a snooze

Your getting confused with towing an automatic car if it brakes down.

There's more "give" in an Auto, and I wouldn't like to be without engine braking when going downhill with a heavy load.
