Got a quote on the corrado today VRT for e1,354.00 it'll break my heart to pay it and put it through the nct only to find out that it will need another 2k spent on it to pass it
i'm joking..!!!so far there's a good bit of cash after been spent on this car to have her right, online vrt quote was 847 but since it's been in the country over a year i have to pay 1354 which is pretty steep... What I want to know guys is what type of reg plates should i put on it.. German style etc.. All suggestions welcome and pics welcome..cheersQUOTE
Nothing really, just thinking about your point, after paying vrt then having to get loads of work done. It it had MOT then it would ease the mind a bit, this coming from importing an idle car and vrting it and then having to do loads of work to it.
What was the reason for the excess VRT, just that it was in the country for a while , or was it back tax?

It was mot'd up until last september and the car itself has only done 6000 miles since 2004, have all previous mot's here - and on it's last mot the only advisory was a slightly corroded rear brake pipe which has been replaced- it's just the nct is supposedly a lot stricter than the uk equivalent.

Why cough up? sure vrt is illegal anyway isnt is? Ireland have to pay a fine to europe every year for vrt! would'nt satisfy the Irish Government by paying after srewing us over!!
But at the end of the day you'll eventually get stopped any may have to pay more.....

up to yourself really
Pay like the rest of us had to, saying it's illegal does not change the fact that it's a requirement to regester a car.
If you can't afford vrt you shouldn't have bought the car

QUOTE (Neilo @ Apr 28 2011, 05:48 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Yes, you bought a car knowing well vrt had to be paind and now you are trying to openly avoid paying tax.
I'm sure the revenue would like to hear that
Do you still get €50 for reporting someone
Surely if I was trying to avoid paying tax, I wouldn't have had a vrt assessment carried out on the car in the first place!
