Well folks, the TDI is up for sale, and I picked up the new car on Monday. '05 Mk5 Golf GTI DSG, with a couple of nice extras. Well impressed with the DSG, I was a bit skeptical in the beginning, but it's just like a computer game after a while. Plenty of power, handling is great without being too harsh, think the tyres are letting it down a bit though, so need to get some decent rubber on there. It feels much bigger than the Mk4, and really is a worthy replacement.

The DSG is great, standard D automatic for driving around town, but a flick of a paddle and your fully in control, or else drop it into S sport fully auto and it drops a couple of cogs and holds the revs right up. The changes on the paddle are great, nice little noise off the exhaust on each change too.

It's been filthy since I picked it up, so havent got any decent pictures, but here's a few of it when it was advertised.

Typical, just when i get a yoke that had some chance of keeping with the TDI. Sweet motor Tom, enjoy. Will you be giving test drives like the TDI? I'm sure i won't grind the gears.

@Dave - couldnt agree more ! Met MarkN the other night, great to see the 2 Black, 18's, Mkv GTI's parked up together.

@Glenn - My new trick will be using the heated seats to keep the jambons warm while on the passenger seat !!!
