This the original Bathorse and is a warning to anyone wanting to do 60MPH around corners on a wet day going over the Wicklow Gap back in 2001

The dent in the roof is from landing upside down on a tree stump but thank god I have kept it all these years as luckily I can take any spare parts I need off it that I was already suppose to have

She was one of the last 92 MK2's as well a little 1.6 diesel. I put a battery into her the other day turned the ignition on, gave her thirty seconds, done that three times and she started straight away couldnt believe it

Will hopefully get the heating system in and the dash in tomorrow and maybe the seats. Will have to go and pick up the engine and gearbox next time I am home and put it into the car as well but that wont be for another while so hoping to have the interior all done and have all the trim panels on the car by Saturday

QUOTE (ShaunieVW @ Jul 6 2012, 11:50 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Jaysus you did well to make it out alive in that lol!!

T cut is for paint, not plastics, i wouldnt even put it on paint, its rough stuff! as si said get a heat gun, the buy some chemical guys new look trim gel or it's called
Something to that effect, keep that on it and they will remain black.

I will get that stuff in the morning and put it on, as tomorrow will be the last day I will be able to work on the car for a while.

I got the heater system for inside the cabin set up today. It was a nightmare as I was missing two parts of it (surprise surprise) and one of the cables were broke.

So I went to my crashed car again and kicked the dash out and then took the heater set up out bit by bit.

I then took the best bits I had from both and used them to make one complete set. I also sealed all gaps I saw with tiger bond and had to use a cable tie to hold the pipeing from the blower motor to the main part to tighten it up and make sure there was not any gaps again.

I also changed out the heater matrix with a new one. I know from the photo's it might not look a huge job but its not tht simple at all and I was dreading it all along.

I also put in one of the electric window's, it is a very simple thing to do.

I didnt get it working as I say the way I had them connected up for power wouldnt of been the best so I had to take it back out and I will get it looked at and find out where I was going wong, I could hear the relay clicking but the window wouldnt go up or down so reckon it could be the switches.

Anyway will be restoring the outer trim to its former glory hopefully tomorrow and putting it onto the car and then that will be t for a few weeks

Im wondering do you still have the crashed mk2 golf blue car because im looking for the left and the right front pilers windscreen panels that goes inside the wing where the bonnect catchers bolt on to either side and whats the floors section underneath the fronts seats bolt onto are they in good condition or is there rust on any of these parts ?

I got cardboard door cards with the car and was never happy with them. Ben Sully had some and so meet him and was delighted when he arrived with a set of fiberglass door cards. They are a bit water damaged but far better than them terrible cardboard ones

Image

I also got these panels with speaker mounts and grills and they have little cigarette ash trays built in as well

Image

The water damage is far worse in the photo's. It is not half as visible in person

I put in my black headliner

I also got the flipdown handles and black sun visors to match

My HID conversion kit arrived

.

I got a new mint dash to replace my old one. They never undid the three bolts in behind the rain tray taking out the old one for respray and so destroyed the dash by just pulling it out

Image

Anyone any idea how to remove this badge with out ruining the dash

Image

Also finally got the back panels to match my black headliner
