What sort of size show is it,
I will probably go, is it classic and vintage?

Its a very big show, it is classic, vintage and some modern stuff also, it is always very good.

OK, just spoke with organisers and there is no problem for a group at the show. We can do it informally by roping off a space for ourselves in the Non Club area or we can book a Club Stand. We will need to come up with a name and ALL cars must preregister. The cost is 10 euros per car BEFORE the 17th and 15 euro afterwards. Limited numbers - so in advance we MUST indicate numbers.

Have we got a banner? Could we get one by time the show comes up?

I'm on for this show and I think a club stand would be great idea so who else? You know the drill

I'll be there with something, Bug and maybe Mk2, who wants to drive the derby??

Would be good to see it done properly, Mosney was crap that way, I ended up parking with the Aircooled Allitude supporters club!!! Not that the bug would fit in any better with the VAG cars! At mosney we where spread all over the place so didnt have anywhere to sit an chat / bitch / moan / laugh at locals etc!

I'm going, should be good fun, biggest in the country I believe. I think if we are there quite early then there shouldnt be a problem. What are peoples views about meeting before hand and then going in a convoy...

While writing this post, Mr Joe Higgins just found me, he is the organiser from the Irish Jag Club. He basically was giving out about all the vag boys tearing up the grass and demanding a "VAG Area". So hes not really happy. I managed to smooth things out, we dont have a vag area and we cant park in the club area but we can park in the public area with no problems. He said to arrive around 9 bells in a convoy so we can park up together. he also said there where alot of new cars there as well. I told him that there where a couple of new cars but that they where unique, as in imported, never retailed in Ireland (Tonys Jobbie).
I think that we are kool and the Gang. We have to go in the Fortfield entrance.

Meet @ KCR 9am??
Ill be there

That contrasts greatly to when I spoke to them a couple of weeks ago as indicated in earlier posts. We had an opportunity then but we didn't take it as no real interest was expressed. They were very happy at that point to take us in. There is now a real danger that it being so late you may end up being pushed out into the public car park with the cars !

What is the public area? The car park?

I don't see how it would be a problem to have a VAG area in principle, although obviously it could be a problem with the short notice we are giving them.

Incidentally, I've only been to this show once, 3 years ago and they only people I saw tearing up the grass were the hot rods.

I have to say i think that's a load of bull, i'd rather not go than be accused of tearing up the grass. I've been going to this show for at least 15 years in it's various venues and it's always been a great show. The last couple of years where there has been a VW area i have never seen anyone do anything like that.

That's my point Glenn, there was so issue so what has happened in past 2 weeks?

snippets from the subsequent emails I requested from them to confirm what we had discussed:

"There is no problem for a group the show you can do it informally by roping
off a space for your selves in the Non Club area or you can book a " Club
Stand by filling in the attached form, you will also need to come up with a
name for your selves. It would be help full if you could all pre register."

and

"Hi Mike,

If you fill in and return the attached form we will then post you back your
entry number for the Show.

we would be delighted to have you exhibit at our show

Looking Forward to hearing from you"

grand so, didnt mean to direct it @ you Glenn. As i said before, your man Joe said that all the vag boys where tearing around and hes not happy. I wasnt at it last year so i dont know what hes talking about. hes a vintage kinda guy so I would assume that the slightest blast would give him a heart attack

Any clarification as to where they are putting the cars that show up?

Is it the public car park?

It probably will be Gearoid at this late stage!
Ill be there anyway in my bodykitted Tipo as always every year.
Ive never seen any VAG group tearing up the grass
