Holy shit I know this car. I always see it in my estate and in Templeogue Village, I presume the owner lives in my estate. Where was it stolen from? I'll definitely keep my eyes peeled around the area, but I'd imagine it's left the area in case it gets spotted.

i'd say this car has seen one of two things, either it WAS targeted specifically, in which case i'd say its in bits or sold on with new details already

or it was taken during a burglary coz the keys were found (opertunistic)
in which case i'd say it was rallied and dumped in a field/ditch somewhere and worse case, burned out.

not the nicest thing to hear but sadly its very possible.

Thats quite depressing... they are obviously well organised, though morally bankrupt scum. get a list of the 'spec' of the car up, that way we can keep an eye on those parts if they come up for sale...
...the old fella was telling me a story of a guy he knows who had golf clubs (pings) nicked out of the boot of the car;they appeared in an ad (badly described) in buyand sell a few weeks later...often better to do your detective work...

FFS that's terrible.

Pics, distinguishing features (you mentioned interior was done recently but anything that owner remembers about car - specific rust, any damage, extras fitted, even a scratch on painwork), chassis number is critical.

Did owner have anyone around recently buying or selling MK1 parts ? Or parts for other cars?

Its a very small world, it will turn up !
