the front of a t4 has torsion bars instead of coilsprings, it can be dropped without buying any parts. and a set of lowering springs for the back.
T4's r us do a good selection of bits... http://www.t4srus.co.uk/ and T4 forums is a great place to search for info, i know there is a thread there somewhere on how to lower the front, its only a matter of jacking up the front and loosening off two bolts, one for each side. here is the link to the t4 forum, its a uk site but they also have an irish regional forum on it..... http://www.vwt4forum.co.uk/

Its simple to lower a T4; at the front at least; jack up the van safely and under the cab area/next to the fuel tank, you'll see two threaded bars hanging down; the two nuts on these threaded bars set tension in the spring bars, wind these out anticlockwise and the van will be lower; count the 'turns' on each side to have the ride heigh matching side to side, tho on some vans one side might need more or less turns vs the other side to have it equal in terms of wheel to arch gap/ sill to ground measurement... be careful when unwinding the big nuts not to accidentially dislodge the spring bars whick run up to the front suspension; they will be a nightmare to set back in their place; some WD40 or copper antiseize grease on the threads after they have been cleaned will help...

At the rear you will need to purchase lowering springs with the correct load rating;
http://www.t4srus.co.uk/vw-t4-transporter-...overs-135-c.asp

If you go too low on a T4 they will handle like shit, and you will no longer be able to carry much of a load; 60mm all round is just about the limit; even at that, the handling might be well dodgy with anything of substantial weight on the back...

T4s handle real well on stock heigh/near stock height - they drive like a car like this and you can fling them into corners at speed condifently s.... severely lowered they handle like pants and pretty much have to be 'nursed' around the place...

T4sRus.co.uk do fairly good quality kits at reasonable prices if you plan slamming it they have a -85mm kit should suit you if you plan going real low but you are limited to wheel size=alloys i have my t4-multivan lowered -60mm with 18inch alloys tbh any lower would be uncomfortable especially on our roads,the front of the t4 is lowered via a torsion so you only need shortened dampers up front and ya can wind the torsion down to suit the height your after,the rear will require shortened dampers and the lowering springs...as above you will get all the info from the t4forum but its a 10ÂŁ a year but well worth it for all the info tips and advice etc..hope this helps and good luck with the t4.

Nah TidyTs nah whos that?

I got the part new from VW but it didnt work he told me there was no other choice for the replacement on the computer and thats it like but the old part had a dif number on it like it was the same bar that last letter one was say 0000000C and the old part was 00000000D

I tried to explain that the dif is most likely that mine has central locking but he didnt seem to know what he was doing so i gave him back his part and decided to just scrap yard it. he thought i need to change other parts to accomodate the new part so i said feck that im not gettin more bits im sure i can get it second hand,

Anyway cheers for looking out for me, I rang 6 scrap yards today and no luck, Didnt see anything on parts on here thats why i suggested that the parts section be put in order of make and model. Oh and sorry about going off topic here! but us van lads have to look after each other on here!!!

thanks for that , was planing on doing something the same as yourself,

50-60mm drop and 18" wheels is plenty for me,

thanks again lads for the help and links,
Thats no problem fella my kit was from t4rus -60 and wound the front down more maybe -65 to 70 so she sits slightly nose down the 18 inch wheels fills the arches perfect without any rubbing even on full lock no problem if your putting 18s on make sure you keep your offset between 35 to 45 will be perfect but no more than 35 or you might start scubbing the tyres my tyre size i think is 225-40 oh ye incase you were wondering the lower the offset the more sticky out they go lol.for a van she handles pretty sweet tbh before i fitted the kit it was like driving a boat...best of luck with it anyway.....
