Just got this in and there appears to be no RTE or TV3?? Shouldn't they be on channels 1 and 2 etc?? All im getting is BBC 1 and 2 on those channels?

Would there be a possibility it's a UK sky box? I ordered through the usual sky numbers?

The chap installing it said leave it on over night any reasons for this?

leave it on and the telephone connection in because they can update the system over the phone line
call youre customer support and they can di it
although the guy who installed it should have done it for you the lazy git

Sounds weird... RTE 1, 2 and TV3 should be 101, 102 and 103.

its compulsory with Sky to have the phone line connected to youre digibox for the first 12 months
otherwise they wont connect you,
they guy installing it should have made you connect it to the phone line,
did he even mention a phone connection??

The updates are done through the dish, not the phoneline, they only require a phone line connection so they can sting you on the interactive stuff.

You have a UK sky setup, which is better than the Irish one anyway, so I'd leave it as is, you can get the Irish channels on a normal aerial anyway!

I've a uk one and get 101 = BBC1, 102 = BBC2, 103 = ITV, 104 = Channel 4, 105 = Channel 5.

You can force the digibox to update its software by pressing and holding the "back up" button on the front panel, disconnecting the power supply at the plug while still holding back up, then reconnect it, keep back up pressed till all the fron panel lights come on (about ten seconds) then the skybox will download software, it can take up to ten minutes. DO NOT disconnect it or switch it off during this time.

Im guessing 287 makes for late night viewing

With broadband I've gone beyond anything sky digital can bring in!

Does anyone know where I can find the codes for RTE/TV3 etc?

Aye, it would be a UK card, thats what I have and it works no bother at all at all, all it does is change the epg listings, so the numbers get jumbled about a little.

As for the software update, its not crazy at all, it works.

One thing though, if you have a weak signal you should not attempt it, otherwise it can corrupt the software leaving you a bit fupped!
