Has anyone bought a Sat nav unit off ebay for their golf, skoda etc. like this one

I just want to know will it work fine in a MkV Gti or would you need to get cables from a dealer ?? They seem like OE units but are they ?If there was already a topic on this maybe you could point me in the right direction, Cheers.

Ian I bought mine on Ebay from a guy in the UK, Topsatnav was his username I think but loads of fellas on Audi-sport had used him. They normally supply you with all the GPS aerials and the cables needed but you'd have to check as every transaction would be differently obviously.

Just try and buy from someone who has a good rep, maybe try VW Vortex or UK-MKIVS and see who people there have bought from and go by that.

If you don't have a CD changer than the nav DVD will have to come out for you to play a CD.

Ian

This is the Sat Nav I have in My GTi. It only has the 1 CD slot, unless you fit a 6 disc changer. You need the Map CD in the head unit to view the Sat Nav maps which is why you will need a 6 disc changer. I have just purchased the Phatnoise Hard Disc system, not yet fitted. If you need any more info let me know. May bump into you at one of the Dublin meets!
