im after thin side moulding for the mk2 golf. do they only come on gti's? or are there plain ones that are the same with out the 'red' gti badge

3dr ones are gti only because they were the only model to come with big bumpers, 5dr ones can be gotten off a jetta with big bumpers.

They are obsolete, not much point in getting part numbers.

I had heard they are not available new but part numbers could be handy when searching through the auto jumple at Inters. Could be a possible place to pick up 2nd hand ones.

Not a problem of thick or thin, dont think that it would be that easy without measuring the length though to tell the difference between one for a four door versus a 2 door?

The 2dr ones are about a foot longer, I think that would be hard to miss?
Sure bring your measuring tape, would be faster than looking at part numbers.

I would chance my arm with asking a dealer.
In my experience some parts which are supposedly obsolete can end up being available, it can just depend on the dealer you ask.
Also with enough requests obsolete parts can end up being remade, if they know they will be able to sell them they will make them.
