So anyway,its been about 10 years since ive been down the stages in a rally car so its now time for a comeback tour

I bought the car above on the way back from the tour myself and Paddy went on,I've been looking at it since
and finally decided to build a rally car for tarmac events.The first thing I needeed was a clean shell as the car
I bought had a sunroof and Peugeot dont half do sunroofs

A quick phone call to the Enda man and a swift spin down the road and I had a GTI shell in my Shed.

First job was to seam weld the chassis legs and turrets.

Add in some supports for the seats and cage.

 

I had an OMP 6 point bolt in cage for my road car but I used it in this instead,otherwise I would have got
a weld in cage.Its pretty well made and a lot better than most bolt in jobs.

 

Next up was to prime the shell inside and out.

And two coats of VW candy white.

I flattened that with 1200 grit and layed down two coats of the clear stuff,Flatened that with
1500 and polished it back up. I'm very happy with the job,Greg Howell can suck my balls

I did have a Rallye but I sold that a wile ago,the Rallye is only an 8v with 103bhp, this will be the same thing with
a 120bhp 16v.

 

hadnt seen one of them before and she was a clean bus too! i do a bit of marshalling, so i hope to see ya pass me someday soon!

 

She's coming along nicely, hope i don't make a hoop of my yoke now or il be looking for that shell back

do you need a other shell enda was ment to take it when he collected that one

cant bring myself to dump it
Also have a few new 15" rims & 2nd hand 15" wheels and tyres for tarmac if you interested
