So, have been looking for one of these for a while as a general hobby/camping wagon....

Picked up this slightly sad, slightly damp example from one of the lads last weekend...

Engine is strong, 64 raging bhp from the go-forever 1.9 SDI engine, and she's driving well.....but she's a little worse for wear in the bodywork and interior decoration department....I have plenty plans to rectify that!

the obligatory 'before' pics...

whats on the cards for this one paul?

A good shlap of the lowering stick, some nice old skool dished rims, enough fittings in the back to (hopefully) qualify for campervan tax, mk3 seats, decent ICE, black oem bumpers...haven't decided on colours yet though...

That 1.8m standing height rule is now gone...

you need a two-ring cooker, storage, bed(can convert from seat), and a table, which can fold away.

all must be permanently fixed to the vehicle...so ya can't just arrive in a hiace with a table, bed-settee, bedside locker and microwave fucked into the back to qualify for €88 road tax per year!

engineers report needed to send the application for vehicle reclassification to the vro in Rosslare also.

OK so, making progress finally on this...

Whipped off the roof-bars to find major rot where the roof had been drilled - major thanks to Alan Robinson (Robbo) for his chopping/welding/filling skills - free plug for a seriously sound chap!

Started to cover the rear panels with flash-band for sound-deadening - it makes a lot of difference..just got the sides done over the weekend - took 10metres in all; will complete the inner roof this week.

Cheap child labour - ya can't beat it! Is it sad that my son's more excited about this project than any other car that's passed through my hands?

Also started the insulation - using 'Thermawrap' roll -very easy to work with, although the foil tape is a pain in the arse!

More updates as the interior fit-out continues...

Took a slight change of direction on the paintwork, as some of ye may have noticed at the Limerick show on Sunday...!

Cab interior has been spruced up nicely, making a start on the rear in the coming days, big thanks to Dermot on here for the gas stove, and to the lad on eircooled for the T5 rear bench seat...
