I'm taking delivery of this tomorrow!
Been looking for a project/daily for sometime now and when I saw this advertised I new I had to have it. Have a Mk4 tdi van, but I also need something more practical for chauffeuring the daughter and nephews around in, so this suits me down to the ground.
The photos were taken a good while back and its been laid up for over a year and a half, so it isn't looking so fresh anymore and needs alot of work. The plan is to get it roadworthy again and get it nct'd.
Theres a heap of spares coming with it, so I'll be able to get stuck into it straight away.
Reconditioned 020Y Gearbox with genuine Quaife ATB
Waterpump
Cambelt & Tensioner
Thermostat
Genuine Oil Filter
Genuine, rust-free Back Box
Reconditioned Back Axle from a low-mileage 8-valve
Refurbished Fuel Tank Straps
Fuel Filler Flap
Rocker Gasket Cover
Genuine New Rear Brake Disc Shields/Covers
Powerflex Bushings for the whole car
K&N Panel Filter
Goodridge Stainless Steel Brake Lines
Bosch Spark Plugs
Handbrake Cable
Polyurethane Exhaust Hangers
Brake Force Distributor (the one that sits half way back the car)
Gearchange Linkage
Master Cylinder
Front Brake Pads
Distributor
Distributor Arm
German Style Number Plates
4x Refurbished 15' BBS RA's with Pirelli P5000s
Relay kit for brighter headlamps
List of things to do:
Treat any rust.
Replace clutch and fit spare box.
Major service, t-belt & water pump.
Remove axle, subframe & wishbones for sandblasting/powdercoating and fit powerflex bushes.
Major brake overhaul (picking up G60 calipers & hubs in the morning).
Replace f*cked coilovers when funds allow.
Once back in a roadworthy condition I hope to slowly but surely get it back looking and driving aswell as it did twenty years ago, eventually repaint it and fit a nice set of RM's or RS's. Obviously an engine rebuild will be on the cards aswell, so I'll be on the lookout for a 9A bottom end!
Roll on tomorrow, I'll get some pics up of its current condition as soon as I can!
