I have just serviced my Caddy and gave it its long overdue new fuel filter. But when I went to start it it is obviously air locked. How do I solve that?

Perhaps I should have filled the fuel filter with diesel? Its one of those filters where the whole unit is unbolted and replaced with a complete new one.

All hoses etc were replaced correctly and securely.

HELP NEEDED!

Fill the filter with diesel and turn the engine over a few times with the throttle wide open. This is not a PD or common rail ?. Always fill the filter, so much easier.

No problem. It's alot easier on the battery and starter. On more modern diesel's, it's so import, as they can be impossible to start. On PD's the tandem pump can be damaged.
