picked this car up couple of weeks ago...had one before and loved it, it had a sparco bucket seat which was ripped out as soon as it came home...i also got it front fogs(old one's cracked), has a scratch on rear bumper which is being fixed this week also needed a good clean and serious de-tarring and tcut(took ages) but car flew through the nct even with the loud exhaust, great car to move...it's a 1.6litre 20valve engine and its 6speed and easy on petrol, gonna get new wheels and tidy it up but im happy for now

its quick for a 1.6 yeah, its revs up to 8500 i think and it has a good pull around 5000 think its when the 20v kicks in(so i was told), i threw the seat out mate sorry(black sparco seat in a skip in knocklyon)lol, and i bought the car off a lad in dublin(im second irish owner), it wouldnt be everyone's cup of tea but i love the japs too(vw still no.1 on the list tho) still have my 05 passat, the levin is a good car to clean up and id make money on it if i sold it so its a win win:) anybody else on here with a levin or jap car?

dead compared to? they are one of the quicker 1.6 cars, there is no standard 1.6 n/a vw that would touch it in acceleration, especially a bzr as they have an lsd as std.

Perhaps dead was a wrong choice of wording, what I really meant was they arent as fast as what they are hyped up to be, Ive been in plenty of 1.6 n/a's and this was the one I was most disappointed with, The pulsar being the best by far, of course a 1.6 vw isent anywhere near as quick they werent designed to be a fast car just a shopping cruiser.

If I'm to be honest, I don't like these cars. They are not that "quick for a 1.6" imo.

My old TDI Bora was quicker then one or two that I met on a track outside Naas. Furthermore, they usually have a massive exhaust on them which deafen you when the driver is at 8k revs trying to get it to go anywhere. I feel the same about the older 20V Corollas. I'm just not a big fan of Toyota cars

But sure, once you're happy with it, that's all that matters. That's what I think anyway
