yeah i noticed that there's not to many saloon projects around here
the engine is actually in the auld lads vento at the min bu it'll be comin of the road shortly
not to sure on the engine code. why?

 

1st car was a mk2 89 jetta. black 1.6diesel. slow, but a pure tank

few pics of the paint job and prep work. done all the sanding and fillin meself and a friend sprayed it fitted a new wing on the front. demoulded the doors and debadged the rear apart from the jetta badge. it turned out alrite. actually has a really sound body

 

Car looks savage dude. Did you buy the gti interior or did you have it from another car? Any ideas where i might pick one up?
Been playing with the idea of putting in a mk4 interior but looks like it willl be alot of work

thanks lad.i bought the gti interior on this site was the only 4 door interior i could find. minnievinnie has gti seats front and rear for sale i think

it''ll be finished in the same white in the first pics above. its a commercial mercedes white.

got me hands on a disc rear axle now aswell. will soon have all the parts.

got the original steel wheels sand blasted and sprayed black. just to see how they would turn out. wouldn't mind stickin them back on in a different colour
bit small do only 14"

 

done a small bit with her this evenin. startin stripin the front and repainting the front bumper. as it was flackin like fuck. u can see it flackin in the pics. just started sanding it and rook the splitter off...bitch of a job

 

I think that you are on the right road, TD jetta, very kool. Do you know that you could run it on veg oil

I think the 14's will be too narrow. Have you thought of banding them?

 

ya i think I have to agree with Kev, the 14's might look a bit small on her

yeah thanks lads will try and get some wide steelies for it or sumtin along them lines

 

did another bit with her today.
just stripped down the front. and just looked at a rufff way the inter-cooler will be mounted up front and the way the pipes will run have ta get proper pipes made up for this
and the only bit of rust in the whole car on the battery tray some one put a coat of paint on it before a real botch job.its not as bad as it looks in the pic so will just have cut put a new lump for it and weld it in

 

resprayed a few bits tonight
lock panel
headlight brackets
headlights

 

rite lads wee bit of a update.
got me back axle striped got it sand blasted and its now primed and i've a few other bits primed aswel. paintin it a chassis black same paint the spray the chassis on lorries.
discs and are grand and callipers aren't siezed. so just have to fit new bearings,bushing and make up new brake piping.
in the meantime i just have to un bolt the shafts and the engine is ready to drop out

ah i am yeah the car was white already and was only resprayed a year so don't want ta go sandin again

yeah was thinkin of gettin one of them alrite or one out of a 01>> transit they're nikce and wide wold look well

 

done another bit with the donkey ta day.
finished primin the rest of the bits of the axle and the front panel.
have ta start tackling the engine bay now, the bay is in farely good nick apart from the battery tray
