All of the above were taken with the lens that spends 99% of its time on my camera, the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 EX HSM - I love this lens. I occasionally use a 50mm f1.8 but I don't find the difference in aperture is enough to warrant swapping them over very often, especially not at shows.

I have tamron 17-50 2.8 , so its very simillar to yours . I love mine too . Its so versatile , specialy when shooting movies .
As for 50mm i dont like it for shows because on crop body you need hell lot of space to feet anything in frame

Not suede, they look & feel like felt, but yeah, probably flocked because there were no creases visible at all which would be nigh on impossible with actual material. Impractical as hell, but damn they look good

Ok all vagdrivers - my beetle shot from players has been shortlisted in the Klutch Online photo of the week competition. Its running in 2nd right now. I would be really grateful for any votes before the deadline on Sunday. Winning would do wonders for my reputation.
