I am going to change the oil pump on my Mk2 to see what difference if any it makes to the running issues I have been having.

I have 2 G60 oil pumps at home here that I can use to check.

Is there any difference between the G60 pump and the one for my n/a engine?

I'm 99% sure the G60 one will bolt on ok but is it an uprated pump?

Not sure on the pressure difference between that and a mk2 8v one but it will work fineand bolt up fine. A mk3 2.0 8v one is what is commonly used to uprate G60 ones!!

Thanks Leon. I'd say they are probably the same. I'll compare the part numbers when I'm swapping them over.

An Audi 80 2l pump will fit also.

Don't forget to check the drive at the top of the shaft that drives the pump.

i changed the one on my 8v and have noticed no difference, but that was with a new one. Id imagine the pressure would definitely need to be higher as the charger is lubed with engine oil eh?

Not really the pressure, but I would imagine the flow rate would be increased.

The part numbers on the pumps were the same when I swapped them over today.
