Alrite lads, The base has gone in my sisters mk 5 GTi. Theres just no base at all. Would this just be a fuse or the radio?

Tried all the settings on the radio. She only recently bought the car and its been that wat since she got it.

I can look up the correct fuse locations for him and point him in a direction to check, assuming he hasn't looked at all the fuses already.

All the fuses are marked as audio system so it doesnt look like there is a seperate fuse for any sub.

What kind of sound system is fitted to these.

Question! If it has been like this since she got it how sure are you that there is something wrong?

Cheers for your help. I know theres something wrong because the sound is 5hit basically. I had one of these GTis meself and it was great sound. Standard radio in it.

Id say you have a hardware problem then. There are two fuses for the audio system, one in each fuse box. F17 and F15. Have a look.

Were the speakers ever changed?
It could be one of the speakers is wired in reverse ( Out of phase ) that cancles out any base you might get

Cheers for the help lads. She's just gona leave it in with vw and let them sort it. If its the radio itself she's gona replace with an rns unit.
