That does look very funky

thoes rear lights are kind of similar to the new TT

 

Hard to tell whether I like it or not as photos are crap. However the rear hatch is a great idea. I can get less in the boot of the B6 Passat than I can the RS due to the boot opening size.

 

The rear lights are very laguna-esk

 

Is it still using the B6 platform ?

Current one uses the B5 platform. This I understand will use the B6 or PQ46 as its known.

 

the back is very renault and not sure about the front it looks korean! although the pohtos are indeed crap!

hmm I had heard they were eventually going to merge the Octavia and the Superb to make a larger hatchback type as the need for a luxury Skoda was small... the last one was based on a Chinese Stretched passat chassis which is why it was bigger...

Yea big time i agree. still have to see it in front of me to really see what i think........thought the last one was okay bit dull,just wait for them to put the 1.4GT engine into the new one................itll happen

 

I have to say I hate it. It looks oddly proportioned and not as elegant as the current model. The rear looks like the new Laguna which believe me is not a good thing. Strangely enough, the front reminds me of the old SAAB 900 the way it tapers in at the indicator lamps.

Does anyone know when it is launched and is it based on a stretched Passat platform again this time??
