the police said it was being towed to tallaght,, it was very low at the front, so think that was mine shit shit shit...

ronan i feel your pain man, i think its about the worst thing that could happen to anyone here on this site. i know if it was any of my cars i would be gutted.

Seems a bit weird if it was recovered in Tallaght, taken up to the red cow then brought back down to the Garda station in Tallaght but then there can't be that many green mk2's about.

I was in Rathcoole last night actually but didn't see anything apart from a nice UK-reg Corrado G60.

I hope you get the car back in decent nick and they actually catch the scumbags.

I would be inclined to head to the station to see it myself if it was my car, dont think I could wait, not sure if they'd be too keen to let someone in at it though, they can be akward gits when it suits them.

Dont let the bastards put you off your car though.

As cat as it is right now, It could be worse.... ie. a shell in a field burnt out.... Hope they catch the fu*kers..........
Let me know if you (or anyone else on here) wants me to install an alarm/immobiliser on their car in the future - cheaply enough.....

update,, garda friend of mine called and told story of my stolen car, was hot wired taken around tallaght, then ditched, then couple of 14 year olds took it for a nice spin head on at 40 into another car.. garda saying it is written off, about 2000 damage.... they have 2 of them in custody....but it is not there fault, they come from broken homes and bad social climate, bollix, thieving robbing scum....so there is my 5 year project gone down the drain... thanks to a bit of tuesdays night fun....

I'd say you want to kill the little arseholes, I hate that excuse of them being from a deprived background, its a pure load of bollox. How can someone wreck something someone else worked bloody hard for and get away with it because they "came from a deprived background" when in reality all that is wrong is they are too bloody lazy to get off their arse and actually put some effort into something constructive.

I'm not sure what quinn directs poilcys are, besides trying to get out of paying any claim at all

It's really upsetting to read this, I do hope that you can get your car back, even if it is wrecked & start a new project

It's just plain wrong that these theiving scum can do this & unfortunately we know that they'll get away with it. These are the type of people that know that they can get away from it

Thankfully no innocent people were hurt, unlike a couple of yrs ago, when a couple of Gardai were killed by knackers joy-riding

Am absolutely gutted for you Ronan.
As soon as the Garda are finished with the car get in there and get whatever bits you want off it before it goes anywhere. You never know, it may be fixable, though maybe not worth your while.
Dont know for sure but usually when a car is written off you then have a choice to buy it back at scrap value.
Could your Garda mate get the names of those 2 little pieces of scum who they have in custody for you. You can be sure that all they will get is a slap on the wrist and asked if they could try refrain from doing it again if it isnt too much trouble. You could maybe get a few lads to pay them a visit some evening. I know thats what I would be doing even if it cost me. The only car they would be able to drive afterwards would be an automatic with hand controls.

Thats not the cxase, get up to Tallaght Garda station and get soemone who will asses the bodywork(panel beater etc) with you, then as soon as you can get what you want off the car, you may need to take it out of there anyway
a 40mph impact might not be as bad as it sounds, you have to look at the car.
Thgose little fuckers need to get a good hiding to show them respect for other peoples property!

Well I suppose Quinn will have to pay what ever the car is valued at. Of course it won't be what you value the car at so if you can get the car back to strip for parts then try doing it.

If its being involved in a head on at 40 then not worth considering repairing it as there are a fair few 16v's out there to be had. Maybe try looking at it as an opportunity to get a new car without the headache of constantly having to carry out work on it. But it's a total pain that once you got your car up and running some fuck had to steal it.

As for the wasters that did it. That's all they are - a pure waste of space. Wankers that have noting better to do then hang around the streets all day getting up to all sorts of dodgy shit. It does have a lot to do with how they are brought it and a lot of blame is with the parents and the kind of shit hole area they live in but you can guarantee that these little bolloxs will probably have a long record and it will not be the last time they go joy riding and will probably spend the rest of their lives in and out of prison and maybe end up as junkies or alcoholics or even homeless bums (or all of the above).

Leave it be and concentrate on getting money out of Quinn and sourcing a new motor. The little shites will probably get a slap on the wrist for it but you can grantee at some stage they will end up behind bars and take some satisfaction out of the fact that their lives will always be sad and miserable going from one dodgy deal to another spending their days in and out of court and they will never be successful or comfortable in life like the rest of us. It doesn't excuse what has happened but such is life in beautiful Ireland.

At least its sunny out today!
