This is somethig Ive been wanting to do for ages!

Choose a venue, some pub or cafe/diner somewhere, with a decent carpark, and then choose a week night, either weekly, forthnightly or monthly, but just have a regular spot to cruise to after work on say a Tuesday night for some grub and a chat now that the evenings are longer and the days warmer!

I was thinking of various places along the N11, like the Beehive, or Ashford house carpark! Somewhere in Greystones? A run up to Roundwood or Laragh. What about Queens in Dalkey, or the Cafe place in Carrickmines!

Anyone interested?

Any venues?

We need an ace cafe / chelsea cruise in Dublin!

You'll get muppets on their way to courtown to nick some cars dropping into the Beehive or anywhere you can see from the road!

Ashford sounds good, you have the Vartry resturant/garage and the pub carpark!

How about some where like Lamb Doyles or the Blue light?

Lep Racecourse is a good idea as there is plenty of car park space and opportunities for car photos etc. Always seems clear too unless racing is on of course.

Car park in Powerscourt too with good photo shots.

The Deerpark - the RS club used to meet there years ago.

Pheonix park as suggested last week at popes cross is good option too.

Seems like a bit of interest in it so!

Id go for Tuesdays personally.

What we require is a pub/resturant/cafe with a nice tarmac carpark if preferable. Perhaps slightly of the beaten track with a nice windy road it to the carpark- no potholes either!

Jonny Foxes, Golden Ball, Enniskerry??? does Powerscourt open late, too many blue rincers! What about Roundwood, Annamoe, Laragh Glenadlough???? nice road whether you coming from town, arklow/wicklow or west wicklow!

Plenty of parking in Dalkey in carpark by church opposite pub, think is called Queens? Am I right Bohall, whats the name of it!

Perhaps somewhere in the city would provide more athmosphere!

When I lived in the Uk, my mates formed our own club (the Strasse Drachens) and used to head out to the local retail park/cinema/complex and park at the diner! Is there anywhere in town like that? Dundrum shopping centre???

My mates in the Uk still go every few weeks the the lemington Lo-life club meets, it pretty cool, they dont get a meal, just head over after tea, sit with a pint, talk cars, sell parts, get advice, bitch - its all good! I suppose eating is an option!

Thats the name of it alright but since it's the only car park in Dalkey you'd be pushed to get 3 spaces.

Glendalough hotel carpark has more than enough room i recon, and plenty of space........ nice road too.

The Park 'n' ride in Greystones is a bit away from the train station so rarely gets much use - could be a good spot for a meeting as it's a good sized car park and I've rarely seen it busy. Leopardstown racecourse is also a good idea, but for those looking for some nice scenery, there's the Glenmalure Lodge who have a big car park which is nearly always empty, decent food, and lovely drive up. In the back end of nowhere though, about 20 mins further than Glendalough...

So what is the agreement? Keep in mind that if this is happening on a weekday evening (I think tuesday was suggested) then travel time and access to location are important if we want to encourage people after a day at work to make the effort. Weekend meets obviously are slightly different.

Greystones was on my list originally and Ive berent o the pub besidde the carpark- Scripts, naff decor and good steak sandwiches!

Is it too far out for Dublin boys though, I though somewhere along the roundwood road might suit as its a nicer spin! Also the carpark in greystones has no pub/cafe, it across the road, ideally we'd meet in a pub/cafe carpark, sit in outside in the summer eves, watching the world go by and looking at our cars!

TGI fridays, the old playwright??

Big car park, food if ya want it and a little more in the middle for everyone maybe??

Even if the place is'nt perfect we can organise one meet up and shoot off and organise another one!!!

Like a party where the girls spend hours making the living room immaculate and everyone ends up messy in the kitchen........
Image

I say we just pick a spot and go for it, Blackrock TGI fridays is my vote

Choices, choices

In the interest of agreement, how about we go with Greystones for the 1st meeting then agree a rota to include the more popular places people mentioned?
