After a bit of researching I've managed to negotiate a discount on 5 sets of Mk5 R32 smoked rear lights from VAGParts.com. They have also agreed to do a good deal on shipping. They will ship all 5 sets to one address for £15 Stg. They normally charge £163.08 ex VAT per set and are willing to knock £20 off per set if we order 5 sets, as well as the deal on shipping. These are the lights.
The price breaks down like this:
5 x 143.08 = £715.40
Plus £15 shipping = £730.40
Adding VAT @ 17.5% = £858.22
Divided by 5 = £171.65 or around €216 each.
They will only accept payment by one credit card and will only deliver to that credit card holders address. I'm willing to put the order on my card and accept delivery of the lights but I'll need to get the money upfront. I propose to set up a paypal payment link for those interested in buying. Unfortunately it's limited to 5 sets so it'll be on a first come, first served basis until all 5 slots are filled. I'll email the buyers a paypal payment link. I'll be looking for €225 for each set to cover paypal fees, and exchange rates so I can clear the balance on my credit card without getting stung for these extras. It's a pretty good deal and represents at least a €50 saving per person on the cost from most other online retailers. A well known VW dealer in Dublin quoted me over €330 for a set just yesterday!
I'm in Dublin and the lights will be shipped to me. Any of you who decide to buy and are based in Dublin can collect the lights from me, but I will send on the lights to anyone outside Dublin at their own expense.
