I could be wrong, but I remember someone saying to me that these bolt onto the TT engines, making them front wheel? Anyone ever heard of that?

I have heard something similar, to the best of my knowledge it was only been done in mk3's because it retains the original gear selector and stuff - I think the last one I seen had vr6 ratio's swapped in which are supposed to work very well with a 1.8t.

I think what you need is a touran box, from a 2.0tdi model. I don't know the code but I'd think thats what your looking for.
If your thinking of using a 225 BAM code would Leon cupra R 'box not work?

IIRC yes, but you don't see those popping up everyday

 

And considering a BAM engine had bits compatible with the other 1.8t's, well i think they do, would that not mean that vRS and normal 1.8t cupra's and also gti golf boxes will fit? or am I missing something?

i meant the mk2 16v is a kr.
the gearbox i have is from a mk3 2L 16v, an ABF

 

ill try and find out if they do, might put up a post and do some research.
