so i brught my vr for a test drive the other day, and after about 10 minutes, steam pissed out the bonnet. it was coming from the coolant tank...lots of pressure.

is it the head gasket?

i checked the oil cap for creamyness and there was none...could there just be a blockage or something?

takes a bit of time for the creaminess i think. fill it up cold and try it again. see if theres a leak when it warms

Could have been airlocked, and coolant not circulating properly.. Try squeezing all the pipes as you fill the coolant.. Do not over fill. Then let the car run till it warms up. Recheck the coolant level and make sure its ok.. Were both hoses hot going to the rad? could have a dodgy water pump or thermostat either..

start engine...remove water bottle cap......rev engine gently...if excess bubbles come up through the bottle....well you dont want to see that happen tbh!

check the rubber o ring in the expansion bottle cap..

Ok are both rad hoses getting hot top and bottom ? if not check the thermostat
and has the expansion bottle got a blue cap on it ?
