its excellent, well worth doing if you have a standard 1.8 GTI unit. It pulls the very best.

It was putting out around 125bhp with 155 lb-ft torque on its last RR session. Still some tweaking to do (chipped ECU to test amongst other things), will update with newest RR figures after its session in December.

The complete engine might be up for grabs soon, have one of these to drop in it:

Hard to beat a 2L valver

QUOTE (daveslp @ Nov 12 2010, 04:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Like it alot! nice colour. just wondering why didn't ye spray under the windscreen? did ye not take the wipers off?
I think that was the first time it was primed, just a rough coat to check for any dents that might have been missed. The wipers were taken off when the whole car was painted.

Yep, he took a few pics with the digital SLR to do the car justice. Much better job than my digital camera

who sprayed it?
Crawfords ( http://crawfordsaccidentrepaircentre.com/ ) up the Shankill Road in Belfast painted it. Very pleased with how it turned out, they also had a bit of body work to do on it too, which was very well done.

Yes Mike, I still have all the pics, I will dig them out and get a few of the more interesting ones up, like the arch repair work.

Got started into stripping the KR head from the valver today, a few pics, nothing too exciting.

Also sourced an ABF rocker cover for it, some subtle differences between it (top) and the KR (bottom) which make it a better job:

Bit more development in the works

Perfect, it was the arch repair and other stuff I was thinking off. It was a very useful thread.
