Picked Up this 90 golf last october. Its a 1990 16v with only 108000 on it and a big service history with it, but it does need a few bits doing!!!!! Only getting round to putting up pics now. Every time I do something with it i seem to find more problems, but hey thats the fun of old cars.

When I opened the garage door this morning the smell of petrol nearly knocked me over, started it up and its leaking from the fuel pump housing. All of the fuel pipes look to be badly rusted aswell. The pipe from the pump to accumalator is rotten through but this is still availible from vw. I cleaned the pipe from the filter to the engine but this also is rotten. The pipe from the accumalator to the filter seems to be in good condition.

With the axle out of the way it was an ideal time to replace all the rusty brake pipes. Made up some new pipes and new fittings.

The fuel line from the fuel filter to engine was leaking, so stripped it out and sent it off to pirtec in ballymount and they made up a new one for €50. The tubing has a bigger outer diameter so is hard to get back into the original clips but it will do the job. Along with new rubber mounts, a new fuel pump housing, filter and pipe from accumalator to pump this should be the end of my fuel leaks.

Hopefully this week I will get the axle and all rear brakes and lines fitted and the car off the axle stands.
