Being working on it on and off for the last year. This is what it started off like:

The original engine was siezed so I put in a 1.6td. There was nothing left of the original exhaust, so i made up a straight through one. The original tank fell apart above me, and showered me in diesel, so that had to be changed too, Picked up a spotless one from Neil. Changed the rubber part of the fuel lines while i was at it, as they'd seen better days. Engine got a decent going over, and is running spot on now.

I waxoiled the underneath of the car, even though it was very solid, just to keep it that way! It needed a small bit of welding below the rear screen and above the rear number plate. Body work hasn't got a whole lot of loving, but i've given it a good clean and got the heat gun at the back bumper. Will fit a new drivers door and wing when i get the money. The Lights were all broken, so i had to get a full set off Neil, which were in perfect condition and finished it off well.

Back axle was rebuilt, I re-used original front callipers, new flexable brake hoses, and fitted a 16v servo and master cylinder recently. Its stopping well but i think i'll try and get a set of gti callipers for it.

I fitted a set of corrado seats inside, which still need to be finished off with a bit of carpet around them.

Going to put a set of cheap coilovers on it, a set of arches and hopefully a front bumper, if anyone has anything knocking about let me know!

was looking forward to seeing this....looking good. Really liking the old skool colours these days.

Might have a bumper for you too, no irons though

#4 ·
p.s. whats the interior like?

don't suppose you know the colour name/code?

The caddy bumpers have the indicators in the front bumper right? I'll get back to you if icant find anything else paul thanks.

Interiors in grand nick, just normal cloth one, not leather or anything. Normal bolster wear on drivers seat. I think the corrado seats look well in it, with the simular headrests in the back as the originals were.

The colours Mexico beige, havn't got a paint code! I'll have to get a wing and door painted, and a few other bits to finish her off.

Thanks for the comments! Motivation to keep going at it!

Havn't a clue what fell off, i dont seem to be missing anything.... i'd love to know what it was. Ah well....

Sparks are soon to be no more, once i find and exhaust that is! Thought i would have lost the other one on the way home it was doing some serious banging and rattling.

Ordered a set of coilovers tonight, and i'll have to sort out the gear linkage it wasn't liking 1st.

looked well, didn't get a chance to look it over unfortunately as I didn't have enough time

Thanks, its coming together alright now.

Coilovers fitted, new ball joints, track rods/ends, cv boot, black plastic wheel centers, black/silver number plates and an exhaust. Had a bit of engine trouble, the turbo engine ran on its own oil and burn the majority of it before stopping, it went completly out of control and i couldn't stop it. So i put a straight diesel in instead of the turbo one as a quick fix.

Very happy with it on the road so far, apart from it being extremly slow!

(Thanks Minivinnie for the pic!)
