<{POST_SNAPBACK}>check the back of the ignition switch, iirc there is one constant power to the switch which should be the middle one, a constant earth then there are two more that come live when 1. the ignition is switched on and 2 when the ignition is cranked. the ignition crank one goes directly to the starter so id imagine that the other one powers the fuel pump and other engine electrics etc. test the switch see what voltages you get at each ignition switch

ya must check the ignition switch , is it the fuel pressure that controls the pump operating so?, if so is it the sensor with two pipes that come from the metering head that dose this
also the car engine runs fine when i put power to the fuse for the fuel punp
