The new wife-mobile
After much searching and test driving, we went with what we believed to be the best all rounder for our requirements - an Audi A4 S-Line Avant - 2.0 170 BHP TDi in Ice Silver metallic.
The car was registered for Xmas last year (22/12) and has only 4k miles on the clock.
Summary specification
S-Line exterior package: upgraded front and rear bumpers, extended side sills, front spoiler, S line logos on sills, chromed fogs, chromed twin tailpipes, 18x8J (245/40) 5 spoke alloys, S Line sports suspension
S-Line interior package: black headliner, brushed aluminium inlays, multifunction steering wheel, leather/cloth upholstery with S line embossed on backs, electric lumbar support and leg extensions.
Other extras include:
Xenon Plus package with daytime run lights and rear LED lights. Wing mirrors also run LED indicators. Front headlight washers and auto lights feature.
Front and rear parking sensors.
Audi Multimedia (MMI) with Bluetooth and voice control
Satellite Navigation
Cruise control
3 zone Climate control
Start-Stop system
Aside from that there are the usual stuff like heated mirrors, follow me home lights, C/L, ESP, EDL, ASR, roof rails, isofix seats, multi power sockets, partition net and last but not least a reversible rear mat/tray (handy for me lugging parts around!)
The 170bhp power plant has plenty of grunt yet so far is an absolute miser on fuel (figures of around 5.5-6l/100km expected) and it is actually quite quiet. The engine is apparently 125kW and 350nm of torque between 1750 and 2500 rpm. Basically its quick!
Overall it has LOADS of space so it's our first real family car. Overall, we're all very happy with it.
