Yes, some of the pics look good (some wouldn't be to taste but you can appreciate the craftsmanship). I wonder what their rates are like for repairs or full cover.

QUOTE (Neilo @ Jul 24 2010, 08:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>€200 per seat, €800 for full interior less door cards. They use 100% genuine automotive grade leather. I called earlier

So 200 for the front seats that's 400 for the pair. That mean 400 for the rear seat? or is there anything else other than the door cars that would be covered?

If the quality is good I would imagine 800 is a cheap interior.

I would imagine cloth would not be a whole lot cheaper, most of the cost would be labour?

I was down with this guy today dropping off a seat. His work is seriously impressive. He has a Hummer in there at the moment that he's been working on for the last 3 months, retrimming absolutely everything. All the headliner and pillars are cream Alcantara and everything else is cream leather, including the full dash, steering wheel, full doorcards etc, and the fitment and stitching looks absolutley perfect. I wouldn't go by the pictures on his ads or website, they don't show what he can do at all. I'll be using him for a bigger job soon. If you're interested call down to see him and all the bits he has done to the Hummer before it goes back to the customer, he has all the dash bits finished and ready to go back in and then I think it's finished.

Useful report Walter.

Did you get to ask him anything on prices?

Is he handy enough to find?

He gave me the same basic details as Neilo, he runs on a base of 200 per seat for a straightforward leather retrim, but obviously if you add in perforated leather, alcantara, diamond stitching etc the price will go up accordingly, and it all comes down to how hard/complicated the seat is to work with, obviously if theres loads of different panels it will take more time than one with just the four bolsters and two centres. He's a dead on guy to talk to, does all the work by himself in the unit he has. At the moment he has the Hummer, an old Beetle and another vintage car in his unit being worked on. He said to me I can give him anything out of the car and he can retrim it.

His unit is out the Kilkenny road out of Castlecomer, after the Texaco and before the MF/Fendt dealership. Heading for Kilkenny it's at the back of a little industrial estate on the right.

All he showed me were leather and alcantara books, but he does have rolls of various other fabrics on his shelves. I asked him about tweed, but he's foreign and he wasn't 100% sure what I was talking about, but he said if you supply him with a certain material you want he can retrim anything in it

He gave me some baaad ideas while I was there...

I was down to this place earlier. The guys name is Ivan and he is sound. A word of warning though before you head down there is to do your research and know what you want! Cause once he brings out all the leather swatches you kinda lose focus! Its so hard to pick leather from samples that are about the size of a postage stamp.

Thanks Jon, do you know if the 200 euro seats are leather or leatherette?
