Funny i was only thinking of something like this on saturday after pollishing a VR6 mani.....would be nice to have VR6 cut into it instead of putting the crappy cover back on.....

 

up to what size can you cut. for example could you do a 2 foot diameter stainless steel vw badge or rabbit logo and if so how much roughly would you expect it would cost. cheers man.

Up to 1.2 metres in diameter from sheet stainless.

Cost varies depending on how long it takes me to draw up the design. That sort of job would probably cost about a hundred quid or more.

Razor I can't do curved stuff (manifold), only sheet but what you would do there is make a little VR6 badge laser cut from stainless and get someone with a bit o skill to TiG weld it on.

Hi Declan, This is what I am talking about. People with ideas...

That type of stuff is no problem at all. I could have a hundred of them by tomorrow evening if I had the measurements. Would need to get the grapic logo of the GTi/ R32 or whatever converted to a vector image for use with Autocad but any graphic design company could do that for me.

In fact if there is someone n here who could do it we might be able to work out a deal!!

I'll have to check out this Scirocco when ye get one in as well. Yeah back home. We're using the laser cutter every day anyway, it would be very little extra hassle to get some of my stuff onto each machine run.

Gonna measure my car tonight and also get a Raster -> Vector converter so I can do logos and knock up a few of them this week and see who wants one!

how thick a piece can you cut through?
you could make some manifold flanges for people looking to make there own intakes and such.

 

5/6mm Stainless. Don't know if we'd have it in stock though.
