Just trying to gather opinions on springs - anybody here have KW's or H&R's or similar on their VW's? I know H&R seem to be at the high end. I have my eye on a set of KW's giving me a teeny tiny drop (just enough!) for 170Euro ish. Any advice welcome!

QUOTEFounded in 1991, KW Suspension now has the largest application line-up of coilover suspension in the marketplace today. KW is a German brand, designed and manufactured in Germany with typical Germanic thoroughness. Not only are these top quality units but the outer casings are manufactured from stainless steel to prevent corrossion.

I would go with Koni

Sport Springs

KONI is proud to introduce a new and exciting line of Sport Springs that compliments an already impressive line of shock absorbers. Lowering a car can give it the exact degree of cool and performance that young drivers want. KONI Sport Springs can a lower a car up to 45mm and are compatible with OE, KONI Sport, and Special D shocks. They are the perfect start for a lower and better looking car at a reasonable price.

I've just bought KW Variant 3 coilovers for my Mk5 R32...

If you can wait a few weeks I can give you a honest impression...

I've had them the last 3 years, hard as fuck ride, but thats the way i like it!

Variant 3: bump and rebound.... very nice!!! I've got Variant 1 and can't fault them.... firm but not overly harsh. They're not exactly built for comfort but they more than make up for it through the twisty stuff.

Can't really go wrong with KW or H&R to be honest... top quality high-end stuff. I would look at changing the dampers as well though. Standard ones won't be great depending on what springs you get and you could end up changing them further down the road. It'll be cheaper to buy springs and dampers together and easier to fit them too. Weitec and Koni have some good reasonably priced spring/damper kits.
