yeah there is lightning here aswell but its not raining or thundery, quite weird!

X2 just out the back there having a smoke and the sky lit up. mad seening lighting on such a clear night.

 

My other half woke me up just now to say that there's thunder and lightning......I thought, not a chance, it's -3 outside! Had a look out the window and sure enough there was and it was snowing too!

Was snowing pretty heavy here in mayo last night and it was sticking even though the ground was wet

what are the roads like lads? in particular the naas road to dublin? i just watched a car slide around the corner in the estate. i'm hoping the main roads would be ok

 

Main roads are fine from what I can see, housing estates are lethal.

 

Roads are great , only drivers cant keep up

 

The motorway just outside Galway was shocking last night. The road hadn't been treated when the snow fell so there was a huge drift in the middle.

@euro-star - Great shot, makes me feel all festive. All it's missing is a wreath on the door.

 

The FWD drifting season has begun.

Had to drive to Enfield and then to the airport last night, when I got to the M50 it started snowing, people still drove like nutters, tailgating

. The motorways still hadn't been treated yet so it was madness. The N7 back to Naas was worse, drove the whole way back at about 50/60 kmh!

Saw a few bumper to bumper crashes, and some vans going off and getting the whole front of the van rippped off by the crash barrier, probably the drivers thought they would have some fun.

Be careful out there, the main roads look ok now though.

The snow is melting in the sun but it will freeze again tonight

some drivers will think its going to be great fun!!

 

Winter tyres for the win,here's a quick vid of me going up a hill (the vidoe doesn't capture how sharp the incline is especially nearer the top,only other car i witnessed go up it while i was there was a nissan patrol,temp is -1/-2 and its mixture of compact snow and ice.
