another huge audi crash about 30mins ago, a ferrari crossed his path when he was flat, put a wheel on the grass and huge spin, hit both barriers. driver seems okay, there is nothing left of the car.
QUOTE (VWphill @ Jun 12 2011, 01:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Is the Ferrari going to be penalised for causing McNishes crash?
wasn't his fault,
1. he couldn't see mcnish behind the other audi,
2. slower cars are advised by the race director to hold their lines and the faster one have to go round them, makes sense as at least you can predict what the slow cars will do.
It was just a racing accident, mcnish couldnt see the ferrari and the ferrari couldnt see mcnish
Enjoyed the race - and I cannot recall this close a finish for ages (13 sec) - forget the 1-2-3 finish of the past - well done Audi - great strategy and well done to the Corvette carrying the American flag at the premier race of Europe - watch for Cadillac next year!
we were in the grandstand opposite pit out watching Allans crash on the big screen -
total silence in the stands until he got out - huge collective sigh of relief.
Was at Tertre Rouge for Rockys massive shunt - same thing, a real emotional roller coaster of a race,
Will upload some pics tomorrow
