Hey gents,

I'm wheels shopping again (always am really but this time i actually need a set)

I'm looking at this set on the vento. Now obviously i know they fit, i can see it.

But what i don't get is WHY?

The Et of the vento is 35-42. The et of these is 15. Why are they not a mile outside? And then, if this is the case, What et's can i use on said mk3 in widths of 7/8/9j?

They're 9J et15 all round, pretty much the limit of the standard mk3 arches. The standard Mk3 is probably what, a 6.5j? at et35ish, but tucked waaaay into the arches. the difference between a 6.5j et35 and a 9j et15 is about 80mm, divide by 2 because the difference works in both directions, and you have the wheel sitting 40mm further out than a standard one, which sounds about right.

Edit, just read that over and it's wrong, fixed my calculations above and also the difference of where the outside edge of the wheel sits will be 50mm, and if you look at how a standard wheel sits, it still sounds about right.

Pull the arches, remove the arch liners. Rolling should give you 10-15mm clearance.

Then stretch a set of 195/40/16s onto the 9J's and away you go
