Hawco Santana

Anyone know what the Story is with these Land Rover looking 4 x 4s?

What's their connection with VW?

QUOTE (GSBellew @ Jan 25 2006, 02:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Well there is a VW dealer in Inverness called Hawco, beyond that I cant find anything.

Clicky

That's all I could see myself when I googled it. I'll have to make a call to that garage in the UK & find out for myself, curiousity is getting to me!

It has a 2.8 common rail engine, VW don't have any of those & also it's produced in Spain.
I wonder why the Autotrader have it under VW??

They were built in Germany by VW, but all Toyota parts. A kind of agreement between the two, as Toyota had not got a foothold in Germany and VW had no pickup. This ran for a while, but don't know what happened since.

Tough machine. Can be throw'n into the ocean, driven into walls, placed on tall buildings and blowen up, set on fire and will still run. Local farmer has one here in Killucan, looks like he bought it from Top Gear, only it looks worse now.

Saw a 06 D LWB pick-up Santana on the M7 last Saturday, pretty much a Land Rover with different head lights!
