Ok, a very early feeler

A few years back I organised a club stand for Club GTI Eire, as a result on an annual basis I am offered a stand if I want it.

Seeing as I plan on making it to inters one way or another with my now project G40, if there is enough interest I can book a stand so we can stick some more irish cars on display, maybe make it a vagdrivers.net stand if the powers that be agree?

GTI International is on the 21st / 22nd June 08 at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground.

I know its early yet, but is anyone interested

Yes Gearoid i'm going, i've 4 cars definite for a stand, some of the lads have given me money to put on the credit card already. Here's the details i've found out about travelling there

The boat leaves Dun Laoghaire at 11:10am on Friday the 20th, arriving into Holyhead at 12:49pm. It takes 1hr39min for the ferry crossing. Ferry link. http://www.directferries.co.uk/holyhead_du...haire_ferry.htm

Here's the link for the hotel in Leicester. Good few dubbers stay there each year

http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/1/en/h...elsearchresults

Hotel's good enough, nothing posh but comfortable. Leicester is good to go out in, good pubs and clubs, it's only 20 mins from Bruntingthorpe.

Link for the show promoters.. http://www.gtiinternational.co.uk/ They'll be selling the tickets online soon, last year it was ÂŁ14 on line or ÂŁ17 at the gate

The boat leaves Holyhead on Monday 23rd at 15:30 arriving into Dun Laoghaire at 17:09

When i priced it it was working out at around €300 including Tickets to the show, ferry and hotel. Not bad at all, that's based on sets of 2 people sharing car and room.

The VAGE club had a stand there this year. Might be worth having a chat with them GearĂłid. It would be better to have us all in one area rather than have 2 smaller Irish displays.

I'll get on to Mick and see what he thinks

Ill be going anyway and maby another car or two so we can put them on display to
rise the numbers but be warned I plan to spend most of the weekend on the strip

I noticed The VAGE club were a bit out on its own away from all the action this year so
if this goes ahead try demand a good location.

ya would be good to have a big Irish stand/presence there next year,we were a small bit out of the way alright but so were a lot of other clubs and we were on lovely dry ground which was worth the extra walk ..

Hey guys, this will be a good show id say. Will the " Golf limited" be on the Vage or Vagdrivers stand this year though??

it has been suggested that a strong irish presence at this would be good ,two or three different irish stands split up would not have the desired effect so it would be nice to be all together ,having the golf limited on the vage stand was a bonus imo as it drew the crowds and let people know there is something going on over here in Ireland too.Dela ,any chance you'd put away that shit stirring stick as hopefully all that is behind us..

#24 ·
I will be there anyway.

Im not trying to stir shit here or anything but what will we be calling ourselves over there
Image

If we can agree on something I will get a banner made up.

I would suggest vagdrivers as it has an active forum to back it up.

Nearly sorry I started this, I didnt intend to make any split or cause trouble, I agree that a unified large stand would be the best, but depending on the number of cars going maybe two stands would be required, which should be fine as long as we request that they be beside each other?
Image

That would give us lots of space and a large Irish presence in one area

Club stands are allocated space based on the number of cars owners that register individually with Autometrix.co.uk when booking tickets for the weekend. Sally was the name of the girl I dealt with in January last year for the VAGE stand; I registered for a stand and the space we were allocated was confirmed on June 10th, once everyone who was putting cars on it had themselves registered as being part of our club display. Our location last year may have been due to the fact that it was only our first time having a club display.

So, the way I see it is
(1) we register for two stands; VAGE and VAGdrivers, and request that they are adjacent, or
(2) register for one stand (called the combined paddy veedubber spud-atin association or similar) and everyone registers as going on this larger stand - we can then fly whatever banners we want once we have our little patch of Ireland in the middle of Bruntingthorpe!

I'm booking a stand for VAGE as soon as I go back to work after New Years, so if folks want to lump in with us, I'll be happy enough with that in the spirit of peace, harmony and shiny volkswagens!

Sure ye can let me know what ye want to do, but either way I'll be reserving a display stand space regardless.........?
