4 of these bad boys arrived today - mean looking tyre, hope to fit them saturday and will write a decent report on them next week,i'm looking forward to the change after 4 sets of F1 GS D3's over the last number of years, don't get me wrong the F1 is great tyre but sadly they are no longer making them so decided now was the time to change, have read and heard great things about these asymmetrics, will keep you posted.......

Where did you get them from Shane & can I ask....How Much? (PM if you so wish!)

I just had a look at the sticker.....Camskills. I have a look at the price for myself there

Lads i wouldn't even bother pricing them on the high street,i used to price Gs D3s to make myself feel better!

I got them for 509 euro delivered from camskill.co.uk ordered late monday night and the arrived lunch time today!

Cant wait to get them on the car.

..... and the price helps too

I think the look far from ordinary, maybe the picture isn't the best! everywhere has stock of Gs D3's but i just felt the time was right to change.

I have these on a few weeks now and i have to say im very very impressed with them,as far as i am concerned the surpass the F1 GSD3 in every aspect....

First thing i noticed was how much quieter the are esp on the motorway.

In the dry the are probably on a par with the old F1,but on a dry roundabout or turn the fair marginally better, the shoulder on these is massive, the old shoulder was a big shoulder and you could feel it in the corners, but these are a different league,it feels so solid in the bends.

In the wet is where these come into there own i haven't had much proper wet driving but tonight i got a good spin of decent wet road driving on the way back from mountmellick, these are a very assured tyre on a wet roundabout and are even better than the old F1 from a standing start on a wet road.

If there is any bad point its that the need maybe 5 mins of driving from a cold start to fully warm up,but then so does the car.it also must be noted that i never had a brand new set of F1s on this car so its hard to get a proper comparison.

Are they much more expensive then the GSD3's?

Neil.
clicky

the only tyres you should have on a car going to the Nurburgring. trust me!

It would be some crack driving the other 2000 miles on them before and after the ring wouldn't it? we are going to the ring for a laugh like not to set lap times

These are my ring shoes right here

Get them here george you wont find a better price even in the trade.

Yeah had a look and it seems like a good price but I reckon I could do a little bit better

The Continental SportContact 3 would cost me around the same in the trade as the F1s cost off Camskill, the P-Zeros are more expensive. I'd imagine the Contis would normally be a more expensive tyre than the F1s, so I might be able to get them through the same source as the Contis for slightly less than the Camskill price.

What are the 17" asymmetrics working out at on camskill? i

Ive been using 225 45 17 asymmetrics for about 8k miles and find wet and dry grip excellent. I also have used gsd3 f1s and p zero rossos which i wouldnt rate at all. The only other tyre i would buy is michelin pilot sport 2 which are excellent, i wouldnt touch any conti as i think they are crap in the wet.

spot on the ps2's are the way to go for dry and wet grip, excellent and they are the only road tyre for track work not including road legal track tyres kumohs,r888,do1js ect.gsd3 fall apart after 2 or 3 laps of mondello the ps2's can take it.

just wondering are the asymmetrics E marked ive been told that goodyear have been sliping on quality and manufacture
