Oh right, thought your car had 17s on it.

Anyway, stretched tyres would look stupid on my car unless I bought coilovers, and that isn't going to happen. So it is staying relatively standard.

Strange how something as small as side repeaters make such a difference.

Thats the VAG modding philosophy in a nutshell

Some of you may know that the heater matrix in the car has been leaking slightly for the past couple of months. I've been putting off doing the job because I hate doing heater rads in any car.

Well anyway I decided to stop procrastinating and tackled it today. And it turned out to be just as bad as I expected. Order of work was roughly;

Centre console out, lower dash covers off, glovebox off.
Clocks out, steering column dropped, pedal box disconnected from dash support bar
Upper dash cover removed, dash support bar unbolted.

At this point I thought all I had to do was pull out the heater box and change the matrix but I discovered that the air con pipes wouldn't allow me to do that. So I had to split the heater box in 2 along a join with clips on it. Then I pulled out the section of the heater box with the matrix in it and changed it over. The old one was in a very bad way, I don't know how it lasted so long without failing completely.

At this stage I have the heater box back together and back in place, the dash support bar bolted back in and the upper dash cover on, so I'm over the worst of it.
